‘Nice celebrates the Tour’ is the name of the event organised by the City of Nice to celebrate the arrival of the TOUR DE FRANCE in the beautiful city of Provence. Ecozona Iberian was chosen to offer good, fresh water to its participants through the service of a Water House.
In the beautiful setting of the Côte d’Azur, the Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur Sports company organised a cycle race open to all: 1,000 km of positive slope, 60 km of legendary roads that will be used by the Tour de France riders during the Grand Final in Nice in 2024.
The Water House was installed within the area dedicated to ‘Nice celebrates the Tour’ on the Quai des États-Unis, where several cycling-related organisations were able to display their activities: the mobility and sustainable development unit of the Métropole Côte d’Azur, the tourist office, the local police to explain the rules to follow when cycling, from the Nice city council programmes to teach children to cycle independently to school. In addition, for all BMX Freestyle fans, the Whole Street stand offered great shows on the ramps!
Several cycling-related entrepreneurs also presented their product: gastronomy with organic products, handicrafts, bicycle transport companies to reduce CO2 emissions, and even the kinesiologist and wellness consultant who visits his patients by bicycle! All to promote cycling-related sustainability.
During the day, many people took advantage of the Water House to quench their thirst, and 575 litres of good, fresh water, free of microplastics, chlorine and substances harmful to the body, were dispensed. The service was much appreciated by cyclists, exhibitors and people who attended the ‘Nice celebrates the Tour’ event.
The use of the Water House produced the following SAVINGS:
- 1,150 1/2 litre PET bottles
- 34.5 kg of plastic
- 2,378 kg CO2 emission savings
